Chocolate Banana Smoothie Bowl (Makes 2 Servings)

Smoothie bowls come in various colors (purple, green, orange, yellow, chocolate brown) and flavors but their texture is always the same: thicker than a drinkable smoothie but thinner than pudding. They’re meant to be devoured with a spoon, and the topping options are endless — nuts, fruit, seeds, crushed crackers, whole grain cereal, and more!

  • 4 frozen bananas
  • 1 fresh banana
  • ⅔ cup almond milk
  • 4 dates
  • 1½ tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp cacao/cocoa powder
  • small handful of walnuts
  • small handful of cacao nibs
  • Toppings: dried coconut, granola, cacao nibs, banana slices, slivered almonds, chia seeds
