Chocolate Overnight Oatmeal Smoothie
We are always on our toes in the morning. From preparing the kids for school to throwing a ‘healthy‘ breakfast together in hopes it will fill you up until lunch. Chocolate Overnight Oatmeal Smoothie is here to ensure your mornings will be as smooth as butter. No more rushing unnecessarily.
Ingredients:
- 40g oats
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 16g natural peanut butter
- 240ml unsweetened almond milk
- 1 /2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
Steps:
The night before, add all of the ingredients to the cup of your blender and give a small stir to ensure everything is well combined. Cover the top with the cling wrap and place them in the fridge. Additionally, you can also just put in a cup and cover it with a cling wrap if the blender cup is a bit too big for your fridge. Let it sit in the fridge overnight.
However, if you wish to eat it today, you can let it cool in the fridge for at least 3 hours.
The next morning, blend the mixture until you get a smoothy and creamy consistency. Adding more milk to the smoothie will let it be less thick. After you get your desired consistency, you can pour it out into a bowl. Finish it with your choice of toppings and enjoy! We recommend adding blueberries, nuts, bananas, strawberries, and even some cocoa nibs for an extra chocolatey taste. Alternatively, you can pour the smoothie into a bottle and drink it on the go.
Be sure to use certified gluten-free oats if you are sensitive to gluten. Check out our gluten-free oats! Also, you can reduce the oats to 1/3 cup and add a scoop of your favourite protein powder. You can use plain milk if you dislike the taste of almond milk. Feel free to use your favourite peanut butter, but be careful not to use too much as the flavour may overpower the whole smoothie.
