Healthy Tapioca Millet Noodles

Millets are nowadays very famous and I personally use a lot of millet in day-to-day cooking. The first pack that caught my eye was the Japanese Tapioca millet noodles pack. So I bought home a pack and tried it with my usual noodles recipe. It came out so nice and the taste was absolutely fine. Made with very little oil, this is a perfect diet recipe. You can use any vegetable you have in your kitchen. You can even add sautéed tofu or paneer. The combinations you can with these healthy tapioca millet noodles get are endless.

Ingredients:

  • Millet Noodles – 1 pack
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Garlic – 2-3 pods, thinly sliced
  • Onion – 2
  • Green Chilli – 2
  • Cabbage / any vegetable combined – 1/2 cup
  • Green Chilli Sauce – 1 tsp
  • Soy Sauce – 1tsp
  • Tomato Sauce – 2 tsp
  • Black Pepper Powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – to taste
  • Coriander leaves/ Green Onions – 3-4 tbs

Directions:

  • In a large pot bring water to a boil and add the noodles
  • Let it boil for about 5 minutes or until done.
  • Pour the noodles into a sieve and wash them over cool water to stop cooking
  • Allow it to drain
  • In a pan heat oil and add garlic. Sauté for a minute and then add onions and green chillies
  • When the onions turn translucent, add cabbage and let them fry for a minute or two
  • Add in the sauces and salt. Mix well
  • Add the drained noodles and mix gently so that all the spices mix well
  • Remove from flame and garnish with coriander leaves
  • Serve hot with tomato sauce
