Looking for the perfect gluten free beer?
Gluten-free beer does not contain gluten such as millet, rice, sorghum, buckwheat or corn (maize). People who have gluten intolerance (including celiac disease sufferers) have a reaction to certain proteins in the grains commonly used to make beer such as barley and wheat.
The brewing process for obtaining them can vary, and in the case of Mongozo Premium Pilsner and Mongozo White, it involves removing the gluten from the beer at two stages. This innovative technology ensures that the beer retains its original lager flavour. An independent laboratory checks each batch of beer brewed for the presence of gluten. Our beer contains less than 3 ppm of gluten and is therefore well within the limits for gluten-free labelling.
Mongozo Beer has a mild, slightly bitter, ‘hoppy’ flavour and easy refreshing to drink. The beer brewed using only high-grade, certified-organic barley malt, rice and hops. The rice used also has Fairtrade certification. In addition, Mongozo means ‘cheers’ in the native language of Henrique Kabia, one of the founders of Mongozo Buckwheat White Beer.
